Job Purpose

The Gaming segment will lead the Gaming Strategy and business objectives for Sun International, providing thought leadership and advice on measuring product performance, revenue growth, operational governance and service standard, as well as building strategic relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; and leading the integration of group-wide projects into operations.


The Gaming Applications Analyst will act as a link between the business operations, end users and the gaming applications technical team with the aim of systematically and methodically investigating, analysing and identifying business needs and challenges; determining timely and effective solutions to support the gaming business functions and processes, (including casino administration and cashiering), and assist users in the optimal use and application of the gaming system within the business.


IT Diploma or relevant equivalent


  1. Minimum of 6 years€™ experience within Gaming System industry
  2. Demonstrable experience in application and implementation of system functionality and support
  3. Demonstrable experience in gaming systems is essential
  4. Demonstrable experience of functional gaming processes specifically related to gaming operations, gaming technical operations, casino admin and cashiering

Key Performance Areas:

  • Establish the EGS support framework and provide guidance in terms of the roadmap for Sun International properties across South Africa including the planning, embedding and optimisation of the EGS system in the business
  • Develop and review gaming business and user requirements
  • Use and update business process diagrams to depict relationships and process flows
  • Conduct audits on the functional use of the system within the business
  • Identify, prioritise, specify and agree on business functional requirements and expectations, and define the criteria for acceptance of any changes to the system in line with requirements
  • Monitor and test the process and system to ensure no unapproved changes are made, conducting impact analyses to identify all affected interfaces/processes by new changes to the system
  • Document the underlying business architecture; test plans and coordination of testing effort to ensure the application of the system aligns with gaming standard operating procedures
  • Conduct the planning and delivery of solution components and evaluate and support changes and improvements to EGS system
  • Determine and facilitate the project oversight on all EGS application support project requirements, as well as anticipate new changes to regulations, legislation and requirements that will be needed in the future
  • Deliver services, functional advice and support for the configuration, testing, maintenance and enhancement of EGS and software within the business operation, in line with Company standards and regulations, referring technical issues through to the IT team
  • Respond to calls and new incidents from business operations, diagnose the issue and find a suitable solution to resolution including calls relating to user rights, access, system errors, authorisations, etc; reporting on user and system statistics
  • Act as a subject matter expert and troubleshoot the resolution of functional system issues to support gaming operations, gaming technical operations, casino admin and cashiering business operations, escalating technical issues to the relevant technical system specialist in IT
  • Develop and update user support manuals to facilitate optimal use of the system
  • Manage and maintain master system configurations and user access matrix for gaming functional areas
  • Perform end-user training, coaching and support for the optimal use of EGS in the business to support gaming operations, gaming technical operations, casino admin and cashiering business operations
  • Manage the application software and licences ensuring the configuration of the environment is in line with best practice
  • Monitor the financials for the EGS support function including the achievement of budget, and streamlining of costs
  • Relationship agreements with key suppliers, business partners and sponsors are built, negotiated and managed to achieve the business objectives and leverage new opportunities and joint initiatives
