Job Purpose

Responsible for the effective leadership and management of the unit€™s shares services centre, including the management of the team to deliver the core finance transactions, revenue, financial reporting and payroll functions for the multiple business areas across the resort, in line with the company standards, and regulatory and legislative requirements.


  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • B.Com Honors (CTA) with Articles
  • Registration as a Chartered Accountant an advantage


  • 8 years€™ experience in a general financial management position with exposure in managing shared services centre environment
  • Experience in a hospitality/gaming environment is advantage

Key Performance Areas:

Delivered Financial Shared Services Centre Plan & Results

  • Understand the unit financial strategy and budgets and align SSC plans accordingly
  • Monitor compliance by the various teams in the SSC to SLAs as agreed with the units serviced by the SSC
  • Facilitate the management and achievement of financial transactional, revenue, statutory reporting and payroll deliverables and processes
  • Compile a risk register for the SSC according to the group and unit standards
  • Identify and investigate new financial opportunities for the SSC
  • Align strategies with BBBEE transformational strategies which contributes towards targets being achieved for the SSC

Financial Governance

  • Develop, align and update practice with new legislative and tax regulations
  • Oversee financial standards and processes for the various functions within the SSC and continuously implement process improvements to increase efficiencies
  • Implement sufficient control measures & check with each function to mitigate any financial risk to the business
  • Ensure relevant statutory returns are completed
  • Review and update of SOPs to align with process improvements

SSC Financial Management & Reporting

  • Review monthly management accounts
  • Oversee the recordings of financial transactions and reporting for the SSC to ensure the financial position is accurate and complete
  • Investigate unusual variances relative to budget and previous year
  • Manage the coordination of year end activities and reporting
  • Motivate and manage capex requirements for the SSC

People Leadership

  • Measure and develop strategies to enhance employee engagement
  • Promote positive working relationships, direction and support for SSC employees
  • Identify and manage training, coaching and development requirements in line with strategic plan
  • Drive high performance culture within SSC to ensure that all SLAs can be met

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Communicate actively with business operations, HR and finance to review cross-unit impacts and reconcile data
  • Negotiate and reach agreements with service providers and business partners
  • Monitor financial performance of various business units and consult with financial manager on results and areas of concern
  • Present results of the SSC to top management
  • Partner with business partner and suppliers to deliver efficient procurement standards
