Job Purpose

Responsible and accountable for managing the day to day delivery of the PR and communications operation and team; consumer and corporate PR, digital and content management (footfall and brand drivers) for the unit with the objectives of creating a public image and the reputation of the business unit€™s brand as the entertainment and casino establishment of choice



  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of a 2 year Diploma in Marketing / PR / Communications. Degree is preferred


  • Minimum of 3 years marketing / PR and promotions experience, including experience in media relations
  • Experience of working across a broad range of media including broadcast, digital, social, and print.
  • Experience in planning and delivering a Public Relations and Communications strategy, including Social Media.
  • Exposure in the gaming industry is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Meets the requirements for a key Gaming Licence
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Ability to work shifts that meet operational requirements

Key Performance Areas:

Content Management:

  • Keep up to date and be proactive in the researching of events, entertainment and content relevant across the business unit and throughout the Group
  • Analyse and diagnose customer preferences in order to optimise or leverage the use of multimedia screens to promote relevant content and maximise marketing opportunities
  • Receive briefs and content creation requests from departments across the business unit
  • Manage the briefing and approval process for all creative and messaging, ensuring that it is on brand, effective and aligned to the correct audience and channel
  • Construct the conceptual designs and ideas of marketing content in line with relevant market segment including events, promotions, facilities, etc. ensuring content remains fresh, relevant and exciting
  • Facilitate the brainstorming and mock-up of design ideas and propose or provide advice on artistic designs and solutions
  • Identify the correct audiences/target market to communicate with and ensure the right message/creative is formulated and delivered on time
  • Identify and evaluate relevant channels and or tools to be used to deliver an integrated platform that can support a combination of text, sounds and images
  • Liaise with Agencies, Group Digital and Group Marketing to provide briefs on the design and creating of content including animated content, high quality video content, photographs, etc
  • Incorporate the work of other specialists including writers, artists, animators, film-makers, sound engineers, etc in the final product
  • Quality assure content and products prior to distribution ensuring brand standards are followed across the resort
  • Manage the delivery of the DTP team in terms of quality assurance, efficiency and deadline management whilst maintaining fresh, relevant and exciting outputs

Media & PR Management:

  • Compile and deliver content for media releases and publicity material in conjunction with PR Agency
  • Build relationships and exploit strategic opportunities with media
  • Check all public communication from a company perspective to ensure the brand is promoted and maintained
  • Develop publicity plans and objectives to maximise positive publicity and ensure the correct target market is reached
  • Plan, co-ordinate and host media launches, events
  • Achieve monthly publicity exposure and monitor it against media analysis
  • Track and measure PR effectiveness against targets

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • Work with Promotions and Events team to ensure content availability according to schedules
  • Collaborate with various departments and management around the development and delivery of internal communication messaging for various events, entertainment and promotions to all staff to ensure cohesive messaging aligned to corporate brand and corporate culture
  • Attend local and relevant public events to elicit new opportunities and leverage relationships to create competitive edge
  • Partner and communicate with suppliers and agencies on a regular basis on the design and delivery of all PR and content design outcomes (consumer and corporate) to ensure quality service delivery
  • Liaise and respond to external stakeholders with regards to PR and Media relations, and to promote the business unit brand

People Management:

  • Manage productivities and payroll costs for the department
  • Perform on the job training and coaching to close developmental gaps and build succession for a talent pipeline within the department
  • Identification of employee training needs
  • Performance contracting, reviews and development
  • On boarding of new staff members
