Job PurposeUnder the direction of the Maintenance Manager and/or the qualified artisan and depending on area of expertise, is responsible for the construction, maintenance and repair of the various aspects related to company property, equipment and plant at the unit.
Education¢ Grade 12/matric
¢ Any form of related training will be considered as an advantage
Experience:¢ Electrical experience, preferably with an electrical qualification. e.g Technical N course will be advantageous
¢ Plumbing or Carpentry training will be advantageous
Skills and Knowledge¢ The candidate should exhibit a reasonable knowledge of his field of expertise and be prepared to further his education and thus improve his chances of advancement in the organisation
¢ Minimum of five years working and/or informal training in his particular field
¢ Exhibit a willingness to become a member of the team and to improve himself. He/she should have an affable nature with a neat and tidy appearance and display an ability to communicate freely with his associates and the public in general
Key Performance Areas:¢ The construction, maintenance and repair of the various aspects related to company property, equipment and plant at the unit. This could include but is not limited to:
- electrical appliances
¢ Assisting with the implementation and/or continuation of preventative maintenance programmes. Shall maintain records of all maintenance and repairs carried out and materials used.
- Assist with the maintenance of adequate stock levels of materials and consumable items associated with field of expertise. Ensure that the right tools are used and that they are properly maintained and kept secure at all times.
- May, from time to time, be required to perform duties not specifically associated with the job title, when the need arises and as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
¢ At all times the incumbent shall ensure that he and any assistants or contractors working with or for him, keep the workplace in such a manner that it complies with all of the requirements of the latest Workplace Health and Safety Regulations and that each and every person obeys the rules and regulations as laid down by such legislation or other applicable codes of practice.
- In every instance, proper safety procedures shall be followed to ensure the protection of staff, our guests and the public in general. Incumbents are expected to keep their workplace neat, tidy and well secured at all times.
