Job Purpose

Be responsible for providing the guest with updated information abou the hotel's facilities and to facilitate and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to the satisfaction of the guest during their stay in accordance with company policies and standards.  He/she ensures that the guests are welcome and cared for, with particular emphasis on the liaison of special requests, guest history, local information and VIP's.


  • Maric or equivalent
  • Recognised hospitality qualification will be advantageous


  • 1-2 years experience in a similar or front office position in a 5 star environment

Skills and Knowledge

  • Must be computer literate - MS Office and Opera
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle situations of conflict
  • Excellent grooming and professional appearance
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Have good knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas
  • Shows initiate and exceptional customer service skills

Key Performance Areas:

  • To know all areas, services and functions of the hotel and keep up to date with information and promotions
  • To greet, welcome and perform rooming for all guests on arrival according to company standards
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Co-ordinate group check-ins and check-outs
  • Check VIP status and rooms
